Hey all, and welcome back to the portfolio of yours truly, Brandon Greene-Hooks. I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone who made the Super Mario Bros. In First Person game what I consider to be a great success; and that includes everyone who played. On that note, the game recently reached a rather significant amount of downloads. Care to guess just how many?

615

Six-hundred and fifteen.

My. Goodness.

I mentioned in a couple of social media outlets that the game received over one-hundred downloads during the first month of its release; however, you all exceeded that record with each passing month, and eventually made it to the aforementioned number on December 31st, 2013. I can honestly say that I was not expecting such a great response from such a small project, and the amount of sheer appreciation and gratitude I have for you all is immense. One may not see it, but as my first game release, this gives me a much better understanding of my process, and how to improve it so that subsequent releases – for this game and others – will be even greater. Beyond that, it’s nice to see people genuinely enjoy something you create; whether it’s a video game or some other expression of creativity.

Because the game is growing, I have decided to give the game room to grow, so to speak. If you take a look at the download page, you’ll see that it has been divided into three sections: discussion, development, and download. Each are rather straightforward, but I’ll go a bit further into detail.

The discussion section allows for comments to be posted. I created this section to have a single, solitary place for all of the game discussion to go, as opposed to being haphazardly strewn about the internet. The development section will feature five videos detailing process I underwent creating the game, and a few specials/extras. That, however, won’t be available for a while; March 3rd if all goes well. Finally, the download section has been updated with a frequently asked questions subsection, along with an updated format.

That’s it for now, everyone; time for me to work on the next post for the remaining website updates. And, again; thanks for the support.
